I am so thankful to Ellen Hubrig for introducing me to Norwex! A Norwegian company founded in 1994 with the mission to redefine cleaning with safe products. Every ingredient is tested through their “360 product safety review”, a 3 step process including a toxicological evaluation, global regulatory assessment and extensive clinical, consumer and safety studies. The result is an assurance of quality, safe, CLEAN ingredients. (I call that the Trust Factor!)

Ellen’s inspiration to represent a company that all began because of a "little red cloth" has created a movement of “Cleaning without Chemicals”. Homes across the globe are ditching their cleaning bottles for some pretty incredible cleaning cloths and safe cleaning products.

I was so excited to speak with her and find out more about her journey. Oh, and I didn’t mention, this tiny but mighty amazing lady has also been my step-mom for a loong time, let's just say, since I was in High School!

-What led you to join Norwex?

After working with my husband for years building our business and patenting technology for sustainable fluid medical waste treatment for hospitals, I had developed a huge passion for industry safety standards.

Norwex connected my drive and passion to continue to help others but do something new in the industry. They make the planet greener by using up to 70% Recyclable materials, including using Ocean Bound Plastic. They give a portion of proceeds from products sold to Washed Ashore, a charitable program creating awareness of plastic pollution through art.

In January 2021, Norwex partnered with Give Back Box to give household items to communities in need and reuse the boxes beings shipped all over the world. Think about 2020 and the amount of online shipping! It is estimated 165 billion packages were shipped in North America, the cardboard used equates to 1 BILLION trees used! :(

How it works: When you receive your Norwex box with products, you fill the box it came in with donated items (things you would give to Goodwill for example), print out a free label from the site, and the box is sent to their headquarters in TX and the items are distributed. People and the Planet benefit! Norwex has helped my mission to make the world a cleaner and greener planet!

-What are some of the most important goals you hope to accomplish?

I keep myself focused on daily stepping stones, taking small steps to continue to learn and grow in all areas of my business. I want to be the best I can to guide and support my customers, growing in ways where we can begin to do our part in keeping the planet a little cleaner and greener. It all adds up and someone has to do it!

-What have been some of your most impactful learning lessons?

Overcoming my technology challenges lol! Developing and communicating my message through social media has been a new process for me. I have become so confident, as I have learned more I have been able to translate that to helping others with what their needs are.

Managing life around COVID, because I have a high risk family. We are all experiencing new ways to run our business and be adaptable. Zoom and Facebook parties are here to stay and I am embracing the changes!

-If you could pick one favorite Norwex product, what is it and why?

That would be the Enviro Cloth. It can be used wet or dry to clean everything! (E stands for Everything!) Norwex Microfiber has the ability to remove up to 99% of bacteria from surfaces! The BacLock* in the cloth—our exclusive micro silver antibacterial agent—goes to work to self-purify and inhibit odors from bacteria, mold and mildew growth within the cloth within 24 hours so that it is ready to use again.

I had to try these products myself to believe it. I have Italian marble and soapstone in my kitchen and now, all I use to clean them and my appliances are these cloths! I am personally obsessed with the kitchen towels, made from the same microfiber. All I can say is, you have to try them!

My other personal favorite is the dishwashing detergent. It is the best piece of mind to know your dishes are getting super clean, with products that are not toxic or harmful chemicals that leave residue on your dishes, cups and silverware.
